Anne-Marie Keppel
Just as we invited a wise and caring doula to our birth, so may we invite them to a loved one's transition. The tenderness of death deserves attention to offer the passing spirit space to feel love from their families without baggage creating distance. In addition, a doula can be a guide to navigate difficult conversations, and challenging tasks ahead.
As an end-of-life doula, you can expect the same care I bring to birth and postpartum, and really, they're not as different as they might seem. For the process of dying, we nest the home and prep the space, and then allow the spirit to leave the body. Therefore death nesting is just as important for welcoming in new life as it is for life leaving.
