Doula is derived from the Greek word caregiver. A doula brings competent care to the process of birth, as well as the end-of-life. Doulas bring unique care to tender and vulnerable moments in our lives. Doulas provide care, but are not medical care providers.
Doulas are an extra set of eyes and hands during tender and powerful times. Doulas are trained in supportive measures and bring their assured support to every situation where they participate. A doula is here for YOU, however you need them to be.

Bringing a doula to your birth or into your home after birth, or during end-of-life transitions, offers comforting calmness. A birth doula is a trained professional that supports everyone present, but their primary focus is on the birthing woman. Having a doula creates space for each person to function in their individual expertise. This presence allows a partner to solely focus on the deep bond of love, a nurse to function as practitioner, and a doctor or midwife to attend medically to their patient. A doula fills in the gaps of support, offering continual calm, confident comfort measures. A doula is also a teacher and offers evidence-based resources so you feel confident in yourself.
